Hello, I’m Lynne Collier, a writer of mostly poetry. I was born in West Yorkshire, England, so you may notice a slight accent in my posts once in a while.
I came to Canada at 14 with my parents and, after a few trips back to England and back again, my home is now in southern Ontario, in a place called The White Rose Shire.
My writing career started with a gardening column in a web magazine in 2010. From there, friends and colleagues encouraged me to write my memoir about raising a child with autism. I found I love to write, so I just kept going.
I recently published a speculative fiction novel about lies and deception in a small Canadian town and a short story about a young outcast Dwarf (pun intended).
While writing my novels, Abundant Life and Warag, I also wrote nine workbooks for authors and opened an Etsy shop.
I write for several online publications through Medium. My poems and articles are often personal stories of my life with God and my gardens. And frequently inlaid with a Yorkshire sense of humour. My life quote is-- “I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” (Etienne Grellet)
Blessings,
Lynne
