Hummingbird Dancer

A tiny hummingbird hovers beside a trumpet flower

As an avid gardener, I’ve tried many times to photograph a hummingbird drinking from the trumpet flowers. These tiny wonders are quite elusive so I settled for a beautiful image from a professional. Here’s the haiku it inspired.

The Dance of the Hummingbird

Ballerinas pause

on pink satin tippytoes

drinking in applause.
