I was very moved by this today. It reminded me of my relationship with my father. Not a good one but I never gave up hope. Near the end of his life he changed (3 months before he died!) I managed to go visit him and for those last 3 weeks he was alive I knew the real man and we became friends. A new person--a new relationship. All things are possible.
