As the sun pierced through the ice-covered branches this morning, I lifted my head to feel the warmth amid the freezing air around me. I could have written many words about how I felt, but simplicity was all I needed to describe the presence of God on a still, peaceful new dawn.

I wrote a haiku in the moment. A simple poem to encompass a prayer.

Lighted Path

Light of the whole world

Illuminate my way Lord

Lead my walk with You.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” — Psalm 119:105, (King James Version)
