Winter Wonderland
Free verse poem of a snow storm
Winter Storm
Not a blanket
but a thick downy duvet
snow sculptures in the garden
branches with mohawks
smothered patio set
chilly round cushions
abandoned, stare at
cone-headed buried birdfeeders
Nature half asleep
Winter in Ontario. It was minus 19 degrees and almost two feet of snow fell. I’m not a fan of being outside much in winter, but it sure looks like a wonderland through the window as I sit in my cozy office sipping tea.
“When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.” — Proverbs 31:21 (NIV)
Til next time, stay warm, no matter what colour you’re wearing.
